Since then, Riverside has evolved into a flagship regional medical center with affiliates throughout the region in every aspect of healthcare. Sentara Williamsburg Community Hospital was opened on April 3, 1961. The hospital has 139-beds and specializes in medicine, surgery and obstetrics. It also features complete diagnostic and imaging services, cardiac care, a cancer treatment center, pediatrics and orthopedics. Other services include home health, emergency services, a Hospitalist program, community health education, and world-class eICU® technology.

An average of 922 babies are delivered a year and approximately more than 5825 patient are admitted.
